FORM MEETS SURFACE: William Irvine and Mark Bell

GALLERY TALK: Wednesday, October 14, at 5pm

Courthouse Gallery Fine Art will present “Form Meets Surface: William Irvine and Mark Bell” from October 14–November 18. The exhibition will highlight porcelain ceramics by potter Mark Bell and his collaboration with painter William Irvine. There will be a Gallery Talk on Wednesday, October 14, at 5pm. The two artists, who are masters in their respective fields, have been collaborating on making porcelain vases and plates since 2015. The pair will talk about the challenges of working together with porcelain, which is made from a specialized, highly refined white ceramic clay. Porcelain presents unique technical and creative challenges for their collaboration due to the smooth, non-porous nature of the material and the unpredictable nature of high-heat firing.
